Attract New Jobs and Keep Existing Ones

A diverse job base strengthens our economy and increases the quality of life that residents expect of our City. As your City Council Member, Trinity’s decisions have contributed to bringing over 150 companies and over 11,000 jobs into Chandler.

Trinity has successfully fought for funds to bring Bus Rapid Transit to Chandler, connecting our Park and Ride at Tumbleweed with the light rail station in Mesa as the Chandler representative to Valley Metro.

She has also supported the Chandler Infill Program to revitalize aging retail centers as well as efforts to bring new businesses to downtown. This has created considerable private investment in Downtown Chandler, as well as fostering places where Chandler residents and residents of other cities can Shop Chandler and spend their money in our great city.

Keeping and creating jobs in Chandler will continue to be Trinity's priority, so that Chandler residents can continue to enjoy the quality of life that brought them to Chandler in the first place.

Maintain Safe and Stable Neighborhoods
Trinity has worked to make our city safer. She has helped open two police substations in order to increase safety in all areas of Chandler. As a result, response times have improved and crime has dropped. Trinity also helped create the Domestic Violence Fatality Review Board to prevent future deaths from domestic violence situations. Trinity will continue her dedication to reduce crime.

Trinity supported the creation of a Neighborhood Resources Department to work with both traditional neighborhoods and those with HOAs. She also helped create the Mesquite Groves Aquatic Center and Snedigar Expansion, and turned a former landfill into the Paseo Vista recreation area. Under Trinity's leadership, we have built new parks and amenities and improved existing parks. These efforts have been recognized nationally and we have consecutively won the Playful City Award and been designated as one the 100 Best Communities for Youth, among other awards.

Neighborhoods will continue to be a priority for Trinity, because the quality of life for our families begins in our neighborhoods.

Remain Fiscally Responsible

On the Council, Trinity has supported fiscal policies that have kept us in a better position than other Valley cities during this recession. Some examples include:

  • Chandler remains first in a Cost of Service study that annually compares cities based on taxes and utility fees, while also maintaining one of the lowest staff to population rates in the Valley. Chandler's sales tax rate remains the lowest in the Valley at 1.5 percent.
  • Chandler has maintained our AAA Bond Ratings and has achieved this from all three agencies. Nationally, we rank in the top 5% of cities who have achieved these ratings or higher.
  • Chandler has saved taxpayers millions of dollars through innovation and collaboration. The joint water treatment plant built with the Town of Gilbert saved $22 million in construction costs, and $1 million a year in operating expenses. We partnered with Chandler Unified School District on joint facilities including the Basha Library and the Mesquite Groves pool.
Trinity is fully committed to saving taxpayers' money and ensuring Chandler remains fiscally responsible, while preserving Chandler's status as one of the best places to live.
